COMIC OF THE YEAR- Blue City Comedy 's grand annual comedy competition showcase!
Winners, Runner Ups of Comic of the Month '23 (Jan-May) and Audition Picks (30 Local comics) will compete for the chance to win money, opportunities and tools to continue honing their craft EACH ROUND they advance and a bonus prize of a $1,000 and the title of COMIC OF THE YEAR if they take it all in the 4 WEEK COMPETITION.
Judges score each set and audience votes for their favorites to crown the champion!!!
The artist who wins this, will win because they have the strongest, most cohesive 20-minute set. We are creating World-Wide Worthy Features here!!!

The Schedule
Round 1
30 comics - 5 minute set - 14 are chosen and will move on to Round 2.
Round 2
The 14 that moved on particapate in The Riff. 7 contestants go on to the Semi Finals.
Semi Finals
A new 10 minute set on topics given at the beginning of the competition. The top 4 will move on to the FINALS.
FINALS
This is where the top 4 bring their best 20-minute set. The person who wins this, will win because they have the strongest, most cohesive 20-minute set. We are creating World-Wide Worthy Features here!!!

The Kansas City native Aryana Nemati has been playing the saxophone for the past fifteen years. While still in high school, Nemati would venture out to the local jam sessions, and eventually began to get contacted for gigs around town.
She continued her musical adventures while attending the local university to study music, in particular, jazz. At this same time, she began to venture into other genres such as soul, funk, salsa, and reggae. Nemati continues to perform with groups of various styles and enjoys the culture that is imbedded in the music.
She hopes to keep spreading the joys of music to many.
