It’s time to pass the mic.

The Blue City is Growing.

Dear friends and supporters,

We have some amazing news to share with all of you! After much consideration and heartfelt discussions, we have decided to take a significant step forward in the growth of our beloved Blue City Comedy. Starting from this month, we will be handing off the day-to-day running of three of the longest running open mic nights in Boise to the wonderful venue that has supported us all these years, Mad Swede Brewing Company.

We wanted to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you for your unwavering support and love over the years. Our open mic nights have been the heartbeat of our comedy community, providing a platform for emerging talents and a space for laughter, joy, and connection. It has been an absolute privilege to witness the growth and development of so many incredible comedians, and we are immensely proud of what we have accomplished together.

However, as we continue to evolve and expand as a company, it is essential for us to focus on our professional shows and elevate the comedy experience to new heights. By entrusting the running of these open mics to the venue itself, we can ensure that our community remains vibrant and flourishing while we devote our time and resources to curating exceptional professional shows for all of you.

Rest assured, though we may be stepping back from the day-to-day operations, we are committed to supporting our community every step of the way. We will maintain a comprehensive list of open mic nights in the Treasure Valley on our website, ensuring that comics can easily find opportunities to showcase your talent and be part of this amazing comedy scene.

This decision was not an easy one, as it marks a new chapter in our journey. But we firmly believe that change breeds growth, and we are excited about the endless possibilities that lie ahead for all of us. By focusing our efforts on producing high-quality shows, we can create even more memorable experiences and foster a stronger bond within our community.

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Mad Swede for taking on this responsibility and continuing to provide a home for laughter and creativity. We have full faith in their ability to uphold the spirit and integrity of these open mics, and we can't wait to see how they thrive under their care.

To our talented comedians and dedicated audience members, we encourage you to keep shining your unique light and spreading laughter wherever you go. Your contributions have made our comedy community something truly special, and we are grateful to be part of this journey with you.

Thank you once again for your unwavering support and understanding. We are incredibly fortunate to have such an incredible community, and we look forward to sharing many more laughs and unforgettable moments with all of you.

With boundless gratitude and hope,

Hailee Lenhart-Wees - Founder and CEO of Blue City Comedy
